M M M M My Tacoma!

Ooh my little pretty one, pretty one.
When you gonna give me some time, Tacoma?
Ooh you make my motor run, my motor run.
Gun it comin' off the line Tacoma
Never gonna stop, give it up.
Such a dirty mind. Always get it up for the touch
of the younger kind. My my my i yi woo. M M M My Tacoma...
Behold, my latest infatuation. The 2006 Toyota Tacoma. Indigo Ink Pearl (or Midnight Blue in some circles). Access cab. V6, 4.0 Liter engine. 4X4. Manual transmission. Power windows, side mirrors, and locks. Cruise control. To paraphrase Ferris Bueller, "If you have the means, I highly recommend it. It is so choice."

Now if you will excuse me, I have an appointment to sell a kidney to pay my gas bill.

Ah, the home cinematograph...

Today's movie recommendation: Four Rooms

Meet Ted. Ted is employed at the Mon Signor Hotel as a bellhop, ergo, he hops at the tone of the service bell rung by the clientele at the front desk of the hotel. On New Years Eve, Ted is charged with the duty of managing the entire hotel on his own. His guest list includes a coven of Wiccans, a married couple in the midst of a strained preternatural psychosexual drama (much to poor Ted's bemusement), a pair of indecorously mannered children, and a drunken assemblage of the Hollywood elite on a Cristal and Hitchcock bend. Combined with Tim Roth's performance as Ted, "the bellhop", much hilarity ensues.

For all Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez fans, this is a "must see".

Post By Popular Demand

Most days I grapple with the task of coming up with some new piece of wordage to fill the generous helping of magnetic media allotted to me. Today, I feel obligated to thank the lone contributor (and probably the only reader) of my blog. Receipt of such acknowledgement merits a word or two of thanks and, upon reviewing the blog of said commentator, certainly a note of encouragement to submit a few posts of her own being the artistically passionate sentient being delineated in her blog profile.

So thank you Chabre, for your generous doling of approbation (as usual). I await in earnest your debut blog posting.

Sincerely,
The Sesquipedalian Wanna-Be

Borborygmus And Glorification Thereof

A Toast To Living In This Time And Place

Hark! Mine gut rumbling marks the hour to sup upon sweet meat and spirits. Let us gorge and inebriate ourselves in the glory of good times and friendship! Let no morsel be left to spoil and no drink be left to waste, for tonight we indulge in our wanton lust for living as kings.

Oh, what more diversion can a man desire
Than to sit'em down by an old turf fire.
Upon his knee a pretty wench
And on the table a jug of punch!

(from 'Jug Of Punch', an Irish drinking song)

Mmmmm......Beer.

Today.....was a busy workday. Not that my workdays of late haven't been fraught with all the charms of the typical software company trying to release a product on a deadline...

Actually, that's not true. As I understand it, ours is not a "typical" software company. We ebb and flow with the seasonal tides of the great ocean of tax laws. We create software for the tax professional, thereby perpetuating (and streamlining) the timeless tradition of tax collection and aiding the endowment of that universal constant paralleled only by death itself.

Yes, I take great pride in my work. I am what you might call an "enabler", providing tools and administering systems that allow the great machine to successfully bestow it's wares upon the good tax-abiding people of civility.

Well, that's how I like to think of it anyway. A cold beer after work lets you think like that....

What the hell...

I was a bit leery about this idea of a "blog", whereby the web savvy population could peruse and comment on the pieces of my life that I deemed fit for posting. I was faced with the possibility that I may not have anything useful or impactful to say to the world.

Upon browsing through other people's blogs for a bit, I was relieved to find nothing useful or impactful in any of them. Granted, I'm sure there are some grand and noteworthy blogs out there, but in general, I won't feel so bad about anything that I post from my little spot on the globe.

Expect to see pictures of the less-than-exotic places I enjoy walking, biking, snowshoeing, etc. I may also throw in some words here and there just because I feel inspired to write every once in a while.

I will do my best to keep this blog up to date......but don't hold your breath.
